Hunter Trade College

We are a Senior High School providing a pathway to a trade career for year 11 and 12 students in Automotive, Construction, Electrical and Metals/Engineering trades.

Our staff are qualified, experienced and caring. They give expert guidance in the trade skills required and the academic subjects of English Studies, General Maths and Computer Applications.

The College has been purpose built with modern education facilities onsite. We offer 3 days a week of timetabled lessons and vocational training at the College plus 2 days a week work placement (Year 11). Our vocational training takes place in modern, well equipped workshops. Our facilities are state of the art. Over $6m has been invested in making sure that students have the best equipment and training rooms.

We have extensive connections with Hunter employers so that our students can gain industry experience through “on the job” work placement with qualified trade-persons and increase their chances of employment after HSC graduation.

Our campus is easily accessible to students from the Upper Hunter, Lower Hunter, Newcastle, Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie and Central Coast regions, with a bus transporting students to and from Maitland Train Station each day.
